Last week I photographed the Libertarian Party of Texas’s state convention, where I was absorbed in people who, above all else, want more free things; not things that don’t cost anything, that’s evident with the fact that Libertarians happily sacrifice a lot—their time, their money, and their privacy—for things that reaffirm personal choice and responsibility, a Libertarian’s opinion of what the American dream really is. It’s always a pleasure to photograph passionate people, no matter their political persuasion or what they’re peddling.
